Libby O’Malley is the person you want to work with and to play with. As the owner of In Association With, LLC, she provides support and consulting services to a pint-sized portfolio of non-profit organizations.

With over 30 years of experience working in grant writing, fundraising and development, board and volunteer management, strategic planning, marketing and communications, Libby’s range is extensive.  With the unique ability to quickly develop strong, collegial working relationships with diverse stakeholders, she’s a terrific addition to your team – whether as an ongoing contractor or a short-term consultant.

Libby was the executive director for the San Diego Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for ten years and speaks and consults on non-profit organizations and association management based on her tenure at AIA San Diego and other non-profits like the Arthritis Foundation and Hampton EventMakers. A staunch patriot, Libby worked for the Navy for five years in the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department, providing marketing, PR, event planning, and commercial sponsorship know-how at naval bases in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA.

After a five-year stint in the technology startup sector, Libby has returned to her sweet spot – non-profit management – as well as relocated her family to Morehead City, North Carolina, away from big city life and close to all things coastal.

Libby has a BA from the University of Virginia in Rhetoric and Communications and a Masters of Tourism Administration (with a focus on special event management) from George Washington University.

Hey there, I’m Libby O’Malley!

I’m an energetic working mama hanging with my darling daughter, Morgan, on the coast of North Carolina in Morehead City.  I manage and consult to non-profit organizations, have an endless curiosity for trying new things, and get on a boat – sailboat or power boat — every possible opportunity.

In addition to my non-profit career, I have dabbled in the technology startup sector, offered strategic planning services, and become highly proficient at website development as a project manager.  Branding and marketing are my love languages, and I am thrilled every time I help new, small business get traction or get to breathe life into a stagnant small business, especially one struggling to succeed in the digital world in which we now live and breathe.

Connecting with people is my oxygen.  And whether it’s connecting over a mutual love of the eastern Carolina coast, a shared history of boating, or a common interest in helping your business or organization go to the next level, let’s find a time to chat!

One of my favorite quotes, by the formidable Eleanor Roosevelt, is “Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.”  I’m eager to connect with you and put our GREAT minds together while discussing your ideas!

A favorite lyric (that was my senior quote in high school — a lifetime ago) is from a song by an eastern Carolina beach music band, the Tams.  To this day, it remains my daily mantra:  “Be young.  Be foolish.  But be happy.”

I’m super happy that you found me here online, and I look forward to seeing you soon whether that’s in person or virtually!

Wishing you ALL good things,
